Voices of IRAQ

Situation:
At the beginning of the conflict in Iraq, there remained a lack of knowledge in America about the atrocities faced by millions of Iraqis every day under the rule of Saddam Hussein. One of the least-understood issues was the persecution of women under the former regime.
Resolution:
To help educate the public and tell the story of progress in the war, PAC conducted media tours and town hall forums featuring Iraqi citizens. The tour included Iraqis from all walks of life, from doctors and lawyers to farmers. These individuals shared passionate stories of how their lives had improved in spite of the violence. The resulting media coverage led to some of the most powerful and positive stories on the situation in Iraq.
