Health Access America

Situation:
There are 47 million uninsured in America. Many of these people either are working and could afford insurance or would qualify for a public program and are just not enrolled. Our client wanted to see how much effect we could have on enrolling these individuals through a public relations effort called Health Access America.
Resolution:
In order to test this plan, the project’s backers selected pilot cities around the country to test the effectiveness of the concept. PAC’s test market was Saginaw Michigan. To create and effective campaign PAC built a large coalition of supporters, from government agencies to private insurance, to participate in our health access campaign. We started with a series of earned media efforts, including a major launch press conference, to build brand awareness for Health Access America. We then set up a series of “enrollment events” where individuals could meet one on one with insurance providers or public assistance professionals. In just under 6 months we were able to enroll nearly 5,000 people that were previously uninsured.
